Raymond Bossaerts was born on 23rd June 1938 in Brasschaat near Antwerp. Since the 1960s,
he was a well-known face in the Flemish television and theatre world. His first major role was as Ben Kurrel in the
Captain Zeppos serials, although before that he played some smaller parts in a couple of other Flemish children's
series like Het Geheim van Killary Harbour ('The Secret of Killary Harbour'), Tijl Uilenspiegel,
Zanzibar and De tijdscapsule ('The Time Capsule').
After the Zeppos serials, Raymond remained connected with the BRT/VRT children's serials. Among others, he played the
part of Orm in Het Zwaard van Ardoewaan ('The Sword of Ardoewaan'). He can also be seen in Keromar,
Fabian van Fallada and Johan en de Alverman ('Johan and the Alverman').
In 1986 he played, alongside Senne Rouffaer, Kappuyns in Het gezin van Paemel ('The Van Paemel Family').
Younger viewers will remember him as Robert in the serial Het Park ('The Park'), in which he played alongside
Janine Bischops. In real life, Raymond had a long history with Janine, as he was her first great love.
He later married Nora Barten, with whom he remained until his death.
Later in his career, Raymond played Police Chief Herman Cardoen in the serial Rupel and Victor Corthout in the soap opera
Thuis ('Home') with Peter Rouffaer, son of Senne. He
also became an assistant director.

Bossaerts died in Poperinge on 9th February 2020 at the age of 81 of
an undisclosed condition.
